Pierluigi Zardetto aka Zar is a London born producer and DJ with Italian heritage now residing in the city of Manchester working with artists such as DRS, Duskee and Sahala. Infusing the sound of soul and jazz in Drum and Bass, he now returns with his first self release EP that is back to his roots of Hip Hop, inspired by producers like J Dilla, Q Tip, 9th Wonder and Madlib. The EP features some of the best lyrical rappers Manchester has to offer, all the way from the fresh new talent to the guys who have been doing this for a long time.

The project starts off with a profound, laid back track entitled ‘All These Things’ featuring conscious rapper Abnormal Sleepz who has been flying high the last few years by releasing his debut LP on the notorious TNQ and working with artists like [ KSR ] and HMD. Next up is the title track of the EP, ‘Fascination’ featuring cheerful wordsmith 2b.Frank and stunning vocalist Dapo, this is the first time the pair have joined forces and hopefully more to come from the new talent. The third track on the project is a jazzy and colourful track entitled ‘Back To The Core’ featuring Manchester native Diligent Fingers who has certainly been making a name for himself as a producer, vocalist and DJ, this track also features jazz musician Dan Harris who skills on the numerous instruments he plays are sensational as heard in the tracks him and Zar collaborate on, both artists are able to work in many different styles, Dili and Dan have worked with Zar a lot on some Drum and bass tracks so now they all return on one Hip Hop track. Lastly the final upbeat track that is ‘Blue Skies’ rounds off the EP nicely featuring playful bars from 2b.Frank once again, the individual has been been breaking through the scene working with Manchester talent Channell, the pair have got a lot on the way so stay tuned.
